ITU Centre of Excellence workshop: “3G-HSPA and LTE mobile networks: Towards the Next Generation of Mobile Networks”

ITU (International Telecommunication Union) and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, jointly organize a training workshop on “3G-HSPA and LTE: Towards the Next Generation of Mobile Networks” to be held in Skopje, from 3 to 5 February 2010.

This workshop has been developed within the ITU Centres of Excellence Network initiative for Europe and will take place at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies in Skopje. It will be focused on technology, regulation and business aspects of 3G-HSPA and LTE, towards the next generation of mobile networks.

It is addressed to regulators, executives, engineers, administration and officials from regulators, telecommunication companies, academia and government organizations who are interested in technology, regulation and business aspects of 3G-HSPA and LTE, towards the next generation of mobile networks...

Seminar in "Renewable Energy Resources, classification, possibilities and prospects"

Student seminar in Renewable Energy Resources, classification, possibilities and prospects was held at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies, from 3 to 14 December, 2007. The seminar was organized by the Department of Power Plants and Systems, under the auspices of the Willy Brandt Foundation- Italy.

The relevance of the subject prompted a great deal of interest among the students and the number of filled-in application forms for attendance exceeded 50. After the evaluation of the forms, a selection was made and the seminar was actively attended by 35 undergraduate and postgraduate students, mainly from the Power Engineering and Control Engineering curricula...

Professor Sigefried Selberherr from the Technical University of Vienna, Austria was a guest of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies

Professor Siegfried Selberherr from the Institute of Microelectronics at the Technical University in Vienna visited Skopje on the invitation of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies and in collaboration with the Institute of Electronics and the Macedonian Section of the IEEE. On 14.09.2007 in the Faculty's Conference Room professor Selberherr gave a lecture on Microelectronics modeling in organization of the Macedonian section of the IEEE.

Besides giving the lecture, the guest visited the Office of the Dean and the Institute of Electronics and he discussed with the hosts about a collaboration between the two institutions.

High mission of EVN Austria and the Technical University of Graz

The President of the Management Committee of the EVN Group from Vienna-Austria, Mr. Herbert Haidvogl with his associate collaborators and Prof. Lothar Fickert from the Technical University of Graz realized a professional visit to FEEIT.

During their conversation with the Dean of the Faculty, questions of mutual interest came up for discussion, such as awarding scholarships for the students of the FEEIT by EVN, possibilities of organizing Technological park, organization of professional seminars on project management and technical education according to the needs of EVN, continuation of the current collaboration and the installation of the new transformer station for FEEIT and ME Faculty...

Campaign of the Faculty for promotion of the Electrical Energy Curricula

Within the frames of the Campaign for the promotion and affirmation of the Electrical Energy curricula, the Dean of the FEEIT, Prof. Vangel Fustik, Ph.D., gave interviews for the KaTV, a Kavadarci television, and for the morning programme of the MTV. Special accent was put on the fact that a lack of professional profiles needed for the planning, promotion, managing and realization of the projects planned in the fields of Electrical Energy and Electrical Supply and the general economic development of the country, as well, is already felt...

Greetings and message from the Dean

Dear present and newly entered students of the FEEIT,

I take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to all our new students for demonstrating trust in our institution by choosing the FEEIT for their studies and for standing upon their dignity in the past period.

You have chosen the right faculty, which you can be proud with and which will help you start your professional career and succeed in it. This country needs you for the renaissance of its economy. You are considered to be the treasure of our country!

Wishing you a pleasant holiday, I give encouragement to all our newly enrolled students before they start their studies, and to all the other students I wish a successful September examination session and of course - a recent graduation of the final-year students!

ITU Centre of Excellence e-learning course: “Mobile and Wireless Multimedia Networks: Technologies, Regulation and Business Aspects”

In June 2009 officially was established a new International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Centre of Excellence (CoE) node at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, as part of ITU Centre of Excellence network for Europe. Head/Coordinator of ITU Centre of Excellence at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies in Skopje is Prof. Dr. Toni Janevski (tonij@feit.ukim.edu.mk).

4th Summer School on Wireless Sensor Networks, Ohrid - senZations 09

FP7 projects ProSense (www.prosense-project.eu) and SENSEI (www.sensei-project.eu) invite you to the traditional, 4th summer school on Wireless Sensor Networks - senZations'09 (www.senzations.net). This year, the summer school senZations'09 will be held in Metropol Lake Resort, Ohrid, Macedonia (www.metropol-ohrid.com) from 1st to 5th September.  Reputable lecturers, among which Mary Ann Ingram, Petri Mahonen, Zach Shelby, Srdjan Krco and Mario Gerla will present most recent achievements in the field of Wireless Sensor Networks. The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies celebrated its 50th Foundation Anniversary

Celebrating 50 years since their foundation, on 18th of June 2009, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy held a special Gala Academy. The event hosted by the three mentioned parties took place at the hotel “Aleksandar Palace” in Skopje and was opened by the performance of the “Mirce Acev” choir. Dean Mile Stankovski, PhD held an opening speech, welcoming the guests of the Gala Academy. The Deans of the other two faculties, the Minister of Education and Science and the Rector of Ss Cyril and Methodius University also saluted the guests by giving a speech...

Celebration of the new academic year and the first class of the first-year students

On October 1st, 2007 the start of the new academic year and the first class of the first-year students were celebrated. Over 500 students enrolled in the first year at the FEEIT, representatives of the student’s organisation and the teaching staff and collaborators of the Faculty were present at the celebration. The Rector of the Sts Cyril and Methodius University, Prof. Gjorgji Martonovski, Ph. D., the spokesperson of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Ivica Bocevski, the President of the Sts Cyril and Metodius University Student Union, Mr. Samoil Malcevski and the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Prof. Milan Kosevski, Ph. D. with his collaborators were guests of the Faculty at this ceremony. The Rector Martinovski, the spokesperson Bocevski, the Dean Fustik and the President of the FEEIT Student Union, Mr. Milan Vasilevski,  gave oration at the formal class.
